Banagher College STEAM

On the 13th of March our STEAM film makers travelled to the Omniplex, Rathmines, Dublin where their short film ‘Seiceamair’ has been chosen as a regional finalist for the Fresh Film Festival Young Filmmaker of the Year.

The team’s short film, directed by Jack Marshall and starring Cameron O’ Sullivan and Daniel Reilly, which is described as a ‘drama comedy as Gaeilge’, tells the story of a boy who cannot afford lunch for school, and ends up in a battle of wits with infamous chess guru, Magnus.

They are now into the All Ireland Final. They have been chosen as the Leinster regional winner and will compete for the overall Young Filmmaker of the Year in Limerick in April, an event that will be screened on RTE.

Director Jack Marshall was interviewed on hearing their success. Watch the interview on X by clicking here.

World Book Day 2024

Happy World Book Day everyone!

Reading is a treasured activity in Banagher College. “The more you read, the more you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go,” – Dr. Seuss.

To celebrate “World Book Day” our students took some time out to recommend a variety of books to any would be readers. Our BCCNS Library book recommendations are below.
