Our team participated in the DCU Camogie Sevens competition on 21st March. Banagher College are the holders of the trophy. They played Loreto, Killina and St. Dominics. They qualified for the semi final where they played Loreto Kilkenny 1. They won with a full time score 7-0(21) to Presentation Wexford : 5-0(15). Two Years in Succession. Well done girls!

Our Headstrong committee organised many events for Schools Go Orange day on March 14th. Well done to all involved!
Banagher College STEAM
On the 13th of March our STEAM film makers travelled to the Omniplex, Rathmines, Dublin where their short film ‘Seiceamair’ has been chosen as a regional finalist for the Fresh Film Festival Young Filmmaker of the Year.
The team’s short film, directed by Jack Marshall and starring Cameron O’ Sullivan and Daniel Reilly, which is described as a ‘drama comedy as Gaeilge’, tells the story of a boy who cannot afford lunch for school, and ends up in a battle of wits with infamous chess guru, Magnus.
They are now into the All Ireland Final. They have been chosen as the Leinster regional winner and will compete for the overall Young Filmmaker of the Year in Limerick in April, an event that will be screened on RTE.

Boccia League
In association with IWA, TY’s participated in the Boccia League in February and March.
TY – Music Generation
Some Banagher College music students have been taking part in a music making workshop in association with Offaly Music Generation. The workshop has been running once a week since February and will continue until April.

Futsal Tournament
To celebrate International Women’s Day, Offaly Sports Partnership organised a Futsal tournament on 8th March in Sacred Heart Secondary School, Tullamore. Over 60 students were in attendance. Well done to all.
